Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini in the Shakya kingdom. Buddhism in Nepal started spreading since reign of Ashoka through Indian and Tibetan missionaries. It is uncertain in which year the Gautam Buddha was born, but it is perhaps around 560 BCE. Approximately 11 percent of People follow Buddhism in Nepal. In some regions, Hinduism absorbed the Buddhist Principle in such extent that, they share same deities and Temples. Around 1200 Buddhist Temples are in Nepal, Some of them go back to 2000 years.

The Buddhist Culture Tour plans to include important Buddhist places of Nepal. In Kathmandu, you can visit Bouddhanath stupa and Swayambhunath stupa, which are in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. The places to visit after Kathmandu are Namobuddha, Pharping Monastery, Patan Mahaboudha Vihar, Pokhara and Lumbini. You will definitely feel peaceful after visiting the Buddhist monastery, temple and stupa.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

A breathtaking Himalayan flight to Kathmandu is a thrill indeed. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and s/he will escort you to your Hotel. After check in and refreshing, you will be briefed by your tour executive. Overnight at Hotel
(Optional Tour: Early morning at 05.45am, transfer to domestic airport for an hour panoramic Everest flight. The flight departs from 06.30am (approximately) so the interested clients were requested to book your seats with us in advance day.) After Everest flight, return back to hotel and have breakfast, then proceed sightseeing activities in Kathmandu valley: Swoyambhunath Stupa (the enlightened Buddha Stupa in the tophill with full glimpse view of Kathmandu valley, recognized by world heritage site and also called the Monkey Temple); Bouddhanath stupa which is among the largest stupa in South Asia & a centre for Tibetan school of Buddhism & Pulhari Monastery. Then after, we lead our trip to Dhulikhel which is the nearest hill station in Kathmandu to see panoramic view of Himalaya ranges. Overnight at Hotel
Early morning wake up for magnificent sunrise views as well as if you are interested you can walk around ancient town with Newari settlement to experience their culture & lifestyle. Dhulikhel is the famous hill station to view sunrise & sunset with panoramic mountain sights. After breakfast & refresh, check out hotel in Dhulikhel and drive to visit Namo Buddha (the most Buddhist sacred place where Buddha sacrifices his body to hungry tigress & her cubs). Morning after breakfast, you will depart for Pharping Monastery & Patan Durbar Square which is located at Lalitpur district, popular for the historical royal palace and the city of finest arts & architecture with masterpiece stone sculpture Shikhara-style of Lord Krishna Temple & Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, a Buddhist monastery. Also here we visit the Tibetan cultural center first founded by the Tibetan refugees of the late fifties and now an exhibition-cum-shopping complex of carpets, Jewellery and many interests' souvenirs. After breakfast proceed fly to Pokhara with beautiful Himalaya view. The most famous enchanting tranquil valley offering natural beauty, living culture, deep gorges Greenery peaks, emerald lakes, snow clad peaks and picturesque village. After lunch, visit World Peace Stupa with short hike uphill & also visit David’s Fall & Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. In the evening, stroll around lakeside & market for shopping. Overnight at Hotel
Early morning about 5am, drive to Sarangkot (the most popular tourist hill station) for sunset/sunrise view along with the magnificent Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain range. After spending few moments here, you will drive back to the hotel, take breakfast and then proceed for Lumbini through Palpa/Tansen route, the Siddhartha highway, with scenic drive of hills and ancient historical town. Upon arrival in Lumbini, check into hotel, refresh & rest. Overnight at Hotel
Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha which is situated in Rupandehi District of Southern Terai (lowland), at an altitude of 600 ft. above sea level. You will visit Buddha Maya Garden where you can see Ashoka Pillar, Pushkarni Pond, Stone Marks of Lord Buddha’s footprints, Sacred Garden, World Peace Flame. Then you can also enjoy visiting some other Buddhist monasteries built by different foreign countries like Chinese Temple, Korean Monastery, Thai Monastery etc. In the afternoon, we will extend our journey further to visit Tilaurakot / Kapilvastu (27 km) for exploring our knowledge on ruin kingdom of Prince Siddhartha (Buddha)’s palace. The ancient capital of Kapilvastu, the kingdom of the Shakya dynasty in which family the Lord Buddha was born. The ruin of a palace is found here which clearly shows the gate through which Lord Buddha walked out of his palace renouncing all worldly possessions in the quest for NIRVANA. Overnight at Hotel
Breakfast in the hotel. Then we will transfer you to domestic airport of Bhairahawa, 22 km distance from Lumbini. On your flight schedule you will fly to Kathmandu and our officer will transfer you to Hotel in Kathmandu. After refresh, you are at leisure for rest or shopping around the city on your own. The final day of your journey. Our representative will farewell you to the airport for your flight back to home.
