Day 1: Arrival in Gangtok

You can fly to Bagdogra Airport or drive from Kakarvita, and our guide will receive you at your given station then transfer to Gangtok. Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is a bustling town with a unique mix of the modern and the traditional. You will have beautiful scenic drive through the picturesque valleys, tea plantations & lush forests. Check into hotel and have rest. Our guide will have short interact meeting in the evening with tour briefing. Overnight at Hotel
Today we commence the sightseeing tour with visiting highlighted places on the way to Ravangla. After breakfast, we set off from Gangtok hotel and visit Do-Drul Chorten, one of the most important Stupa of Sikkim built by the late Venerable Trulsi Rimpoche in 1945-46, it contains a mandala of Dorji-Phurpa, holy texts, mantras and is encircled by 108 prayer wheels. Then we will have another point Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, situated close to the Chorten, this institute is a repository of the largest collection of Tibetan artifacts outside Tibet. Also renowned worldwide for the study of Buddhist philosophy and religion, it is a treasure house of rare Thankas, Buddhist icon and objects of art. And our journey further lead ahead to Rumtek Monastery, a magnificent monastery built by the late Gyalwa Karmapa, the head of the Kagyupa sect, as an exact replica of the original Kagyu monastery in Tibet. It is also the international headquarters of the Karma Kagyu centres. On arrival at Ravangla check in at Mt. Narsing Village Resort, an ideal place to experience the peace and tranquility of the Sikkimese countryside coupled with the warmth of the typical Sikkimese hospitality. A couple of hours of hike into the nearby villages will help you loosen up for the tough trek ahead. Overnight at Hotel
Morning breakfast in the hotel, and will begin your sightseeing trip by our guide to Yuksom (1,780 metres). Yuksom was the first capital of Sikkim. It is popular location for amazing view surrounding and so it is often referred as the ‘Gateway to Mt. Kanchengdzonga’. The drive will be full of picturesque traveling through the countryside, tropical forests and more attracting views. A quaint little village, Yuksom is also the take off point for trekking to Dzongri and Goecha-la. This is also the place where the three Lamas met and consecrated the first king of Sikkim in 1641. The Norbugang chorten and the Coronation throne stand mute testimony to this historic event. Also you can visit Dubdi Monastery, the oldest monastery in Sikkim built Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo, the revered Buddhist monk who introduced Buddhism in Sikkim in 1641 AD. Overnight at Hotel
Today we begin our trekking program from Yuksom to camp in Tsokha. After early breakfast, we set off the trek trails through enchanting terrains of the Himalayas. The trek will follows 6 hours ascending through semi-tropical forests splashing beautiful mountain streams’ water and fascinating Rhododendron forests. The last two-hours trek to Tsokha is a steep climb and the first glimpse of the magnificent Mt. Pan Dim (6891 m) can be seen. On the way, you will also visit Bakhim located at an elevation of 2700 m. Our second day trek will embark through rustic settlements of Tsokha reaching the mustical valleys osf Dzongri. The trek comprises a steep climb through fascinating Rhododendron forests, the colorful and lively gorges that are cosseted with vibrant species of flowering plants. And before we feel tired you will amazed with magnificent views of Mt. Pandim, Mt. Thenchinkhang & Mt. Jhopuno on reaching Phedang, where we will take few minutes halt for lunch as well. Further heading to our hike, you will encompass both ascending & descending hill to Dzongri. The spectacular view of Mt. Khanchengdzonga, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Moktan, Mt. Jhoponu, Mt. Thenchinkhang & Mt. Narsing Peaks will be witnessed on arriving Dzongri. Overnight at Tented Camp or Teahouse
Today you will have full day excursion to Dzongri Pass along a route through towering white peaks and exploring the majestic beauty around it. Overnight at Tented Camp or Teahouse
Today we will retrace back to Tsokha following the same trails & terrains with one more time enjoying the magnificent views of beautiful white peaks and lush green colorful forests. Overnight at Tented Camp or Teahouse
Continue embarking the same trek trails back to Yuksom. On arriving little early in the afternoon, you are free to stroll around the historical town or or stroll around the tranquil Karthok Lake if time permits. Overnight at Hotel
After breakfast, we take approx. 3.5 hrs drive to Darjeeling. This short journey will be exciting as traveling through the mystical valleys and enthralling curvy trains that connects Yuksom with Darjeeling. Enroute, you will also enjoy sights the beautiful tea-plantations, spectacular villages and dazzling views of the lush pine forests. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check in & refresh in the hotel then you can explore the verdant & pleasant Darjeeling locales in the evening. Overnight at Hotel
We wake up early morning for our exclusive drive to Tiger Hills for a singular experience of mesmeric views of the first rising rays of the Sun over Mt. Khanchendzonga. You will visit the pious Ghoom Monastery on the way back to hotel. It was built in 1875, follows the Gelugpa sect and houses one of the largest statue of the Maitreya Buddha –“the future Buddha”. Have breakfast in the hotel then continue sightseeing visit of the city which will make you familiar with its vivacious traditions and cultures along with relive your childhood days over a joy ride Toy-Train “Darjeeling Himalayan Railway”, a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO. Also visit Gurkha Memorial and get acquainted with the Gurkhas. Then visit The Himalayan Zoo to relish yourselves with the region’s exotic flora & fauna, which houses the Himalayan fauna like the Red Panda, Black Bear, Yaks, Tigers, Snow Leopard etc. in their natural habitat. In the adjacent you can visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, a premier training centre for mountaineers and a museum detailing the ascent of the Mt. Everest by Tenzing Sherpa & Sir Edmund Hillay and numerous other expeditions. Overnight at Hotel
The day comes to an end of the trip. After breakfast, our guide will drop you to the airport or at Kakarvitta for your onward destination.
